Offline Weekend: When the Router Goes Quiet and the World Gets Loud
On Saturday morning I pulled the plug on my router. No notifications, no emails, no constant flicker of the status bar. The silence felt threatening at first, then liberating.
I walked through the park, where the flowers are so red and the trees so green it seemed someone had turned up the saturation manually. An old man on a bench told me about his cat, whose face I had only ever seen in selfies. His voice had depth, his story a duration no TikTok recipe could match.
Back home I sat down to write, not to scroll. The words came slowly but clearly. Without the constant distraction I finally felt properly connected to my own train of thought. The offline weekend was not deprivation but a retreat inward.
